Here Comes Johnny ...Christian Dior Spring 2010 Collection

John Galliano does his ting ting baby (Equestriennes style)

Haughty, crop-switching equestriennes in top hats, veils, and impeccable riding habits; incredible ball gowns swathed and swagged in dozens of yards of duchesse satin: This was one of those occasions when John Galliano pushed a Dior couture show into the realms of sensory overload.

The BEST OF THE BALD HEADED BEAST OF THE SPRING COUTURE 2010 is...

Armani Prive Spring 2010 Couture blew me a way....Check out the Show
"It's about the moon," explained Giorgio Armani before his show. "I always need a hook to get into a collection, and that was it—thinking about something romantic and dreamy, far away from our everyday life. Something less harsh." The lunar references, he pointed out, were poured into luminescent fabrics, curviform cutting, embroideries made to look like the craters of the moon, and a crescent-shaped updo for the hair, which, he smiled, "is also a bit of a joke."

2009 CFDA/ Vogue Fashion Fund Awards

The best and brightest vie for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund's grand prize: cash and invaluable advice from industry insiders. Florence Kane meets the contenders. Photographed by Norman Jean Roy.
Sophie Theallet winner

"I love when people ask me where I'm going for vacation," says Sophie Theallet. "I say, 'I'm going to Africa!' " In truth, the French-born, Brooklyn-based designer has been so busy with her label lately that she's stayed close to home. No matter. "When you love your job, it's better than a holiday!" She does take a trip of sorts with her spring collection of tribal prints and hot desert hues inspired by the continent. Theallet worked for Jean Paul Gaultier and Azzedine Alaïa, and had a line called Motu Tane before launching her own collection of beautifully made dresses three years ago.

Milan is a design Intern at Tory Burch

Im so glad to be starting as a design intern at Tory Burch.

Tory Burch is an attainable, luxury, lifestyle brand defined by classic American sportswear with an eclectic sensibility, which embodies the personal style and spirit of its co-founder and creative director, Tory Burch. Perceiving a void in the market for a sophisticated American aesthetic at an accessible price point, Tory wanted to create stylish yet wearable clothing and accessories for women of all ages. Tory Burch was launched in February 2004 as a lifestyle concept with multiple product categories, including ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes and jewelry. Going against the minimalist trend that was popular at the time, Tory designed her flagship boutique, in downtown New York, to feel more like a room in her own home than a traditional retail store. Key design elements featured in all boutiques include orange lacquer doors, mirrored walls, and Lucite fixtures. Tory's childhood on a farm outside of Philadelphia, as well as her mother and father's unique sense of personal style, influence the aesthetic of the collection. Her sensibility is also inspired by art, photography, films, travel and the work of interior designer David Hicks. Graphic prints, bold colors and ethnic detailing are all signatures of the brand. Celebrity fans include Cameron Diaz, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez, Uma Thurman and Hilary Swank. Tory Burch is available at free-standing Tory Burch boutiques, www.toryburch.com and over 450 select department and specialty stores worldwide.

Style Awards: 2009

Awards season may still be around the corner, but we've had our eyes on the prize all year. You see, though a grade-A ensemble may seem like less of a production than a film, we know that a blockbuster outfit is truly an achievement. So for this year's best-dressed round-up we wanted to give credit where credit is due and single out the most stellar sartorial performances of 2009. All twelve of these well-dressed winners have played roles in making this year memorable, so we wanted to pay tribute to their particular clothing contributions in our inaugural edition of Who What Wear's Style Awards. So without further delay, the envelopes please…
